Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Don't know about them. As for me, I've been playing it even before the artifacts were resolved and have gone through first 13 missions of TFL (downloaded plugin for Myth2) and trying to finish them without a single casualty :-) I got as far as the first level with forest giants (when it first came o...

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Yep! Just got a reply from the xorg dev that it is indeed fixed (they tested it with Myth2 demo). That was one amazing response rate from both you guys and the Xorg folks--too bad commercial support is nowhere near as good as this :-)

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

That did it!!! Many thanks!!! I also complied new mesa and libdrm_intel and that also fixed the artifacts without the poweruser.txt fix but the framerate was abysmally slow, probably because I did not recompile the rest of the Xorg server. So, all this should be hopefully fixed in the 12.04 release....

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Do you think that adding this explicitly into the code would fix this problem? If so, I will gladly test that.

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

What is however curious is that even the Ubuntu Oneiric version you guys compiled for me is throwing out errors suggesting that some globally defined struct or data is redefined and hence it fails when fully dynamically linked. Are you guys using a customized version of SDL? Another thought is that ...

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Tried the test and still the same... http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4469/myth2intelubuntuartifac.png I will try to install it through Wine and let you know. EDIT: Oh, the irony... I installed Myth2 (from the Total Codex that I purchased many years ago), and patched it with your 1.72 patch for Wi...

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Intel drivers are integrated into Xorg and actively maintained with contributions from Intel so that is as official as it gets. That said, there is only open-source driver. I completely agree that something funny is happening with alpha calculation and that could still point to a driver as Sandy Bri...

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

OK, tried that as well as every other flag available in the log without luck. So, eventually I ran with everything disabled and still nothing: 2012-01-21 11:58:32 Myth II 32-Bit Build 377 running under Linux ---------------------------------------------- Loading poweruser.txt... OK. Scanning for sof...

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Well this is insane... I just tried Ubuntu 11.10 version you posted and the problem still persists... I guess this is the end of that... Many thanks for all your help! I officially give up... BTW you did use Ubuntu native libSDL.a?

At any rate, once again many thanks for all your help!

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Again, many thanks for your reply. Indeed finding out what might be a problem is of the essence but remains elusive to me even after spending probably 6-8 hours on this issue... It could be as ridiculous of an issue of Kernel 2.6* vs 3.* or as we already discussed glibc or any of the other libs. I a...

Re: Any plans for the native 64-bit Linux version?

Just to follow-up, I got my hands on the original Aquaria code from which the original deb package with problems was built and tried building both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of that app and none of them (no matter what version I used) exhibited the said problem. So, after 3 more hours poured into th...
