I have recently discovered my Myth games (1,2 and sadly 3 which I think kinda sucked) - and even my Chimera download!

I have a few questions I was wondering if people could help me with.

When I first got Myth I had a 3dfx voodoo5 card! remember those?? The game looked beautiful on Glide. But horrible on D3D when I went over to an nvidia card.

Will the new patch which offers OpenGL support make it look as beautiful as it did under Glide? B/C under D3D it was so choppy and horrible.

Also, I run Windows XP now... can I even install these games? If so, will it straight install or is there a trick to it?

Thanks to anyone that can answer these questions and sorry if they have been asked before!

You should be able to run the installer off the CD in compatibility mode. After that, grab the 1.5.1 updater from this site and run it, and you're good to go.

I don't think anything looks as good as Glide did, but I'd say you'll find both OpenGL and D3D to be acceptable. Way better than software mode anyway ;) Btw we provided OpenGL under Windows primarily because D3D can cause really bad input lag on some machines.

thanks for the info... yeah i forgot about running the install CD in windows 2000 compatability mode...

as for glide, man it looked beautiful. sometimes i am tempted to plug that old 3dfx card back in just to play myth.

i'll take a look at open GL and hopefully it looks good!
