After a crash, having him open the Myth_log.txt file in his Myth 2 installation directory and post the contents here. It may say why it is crashing.

Otherwise, try having him change rendering modes - OpenGL is unstable in general with some video cards, so that might be the problem.

After 1.5? Does your friend have the latest update? For Myth 2 its 1.5.1 but there is a beta 1.5.2. Make sure he has 1.5.1 then tell him to read what his Myth_log.txt like Eddaweaver mentioned.

I was crashing with a cpu shutdown on my laptop after a few games of heating up the processor. the development crew told me to use max frame rates i checked the box and lowered the frame rate under 30 hasnt crashed since...

There are many causes that can crash to desktop... and beyond... check your myth log make sure you dont have a local folder in while playing online etc... document the whens and whys and save crash game films...

also make sure your on the latest version of myth

1.52 rc8 i think is the latest myth beta.
if one does not learn from the failings of the past they are likely to suffer its return.

3D Sound option on Windows is known to cause crashes. Turn that off.

Also, try software-rendering to make sure it's not related to your video card drivers.

If that still doesn't help you, post back here and we can try other things.
