Myth tfl 1.5 is acting screwy

Post by Guest »

well a few things are wrong with it.

First and foremost, it won't allow me to have units face a certain dircetion when I set a formation.

The left mouse button goes into ban select mode, and the right mouse button just tells the unit to attack ground. Its fustrating, I never had this problem with myth 1.4.

Secondly its kinda choppy, but its especially choppy when I'm typing in a message or typing in anything at all during the game.

What should I do? any options?

I think thats the one he is having trouble with CIK.

Not sure about the choppieness, but I know that in TFL you cant face your units unless you declare a formation (unlike myth 2 which can use persistent formations, you have keep hitting the number each time). So the "current location" move that TFL normally uses can't be given direction. You may be able to "flick" direct with that in mind. As for the other mouse button I haven't a clue....

What version of Windows and do you have the latest version of Direct X installed? Have you tried running it in Win98 emulation mode if you're on Win2k / XP?

Ok the next person who sugestion to use Win98 emulation I'm going to strangle.......The 1.5 updates for Myth are fully XP compatabile and if anything run better on XP then on 98. In fact if your having problems make sure you don't have any of the emulation stuff turned on.

Post the contents of your Myth log file here along with the output of dxdiag.

When you run Myth is leaves a log file inside the Myth directory. Look in your programs directory for your Myth directory if you used the automated installer.

The above statement is incorrect.

TFL units can be pointed in any direction w/o resorting to invoking a formation change order.

Simply select your unit(s) and click-drag over the unit(s) in the direction you wish them to face.

Oh. My apologies, I was unclear. I was reffereing to when you are moving and facing at the same time (the flick gesturing). The current location "rabble" can not be flick gesured (at least I never could, 1.3 and through).

EDIT: You can face the unit. I meant the formation.
