myth updates expire?

myth updates expire?

I updated myth with an update and suddenly I got after a while a :

myth update expired...

and when I tried to use an older version it asked me for the CD!!!
uhgg
so I downloaded a newer update and so far it works....

is this common?
that could happen to this new version in a few days?

The Myth II 1.5.2 updates have are still beta, though very stable. So to encourage people to stay up on the current version we expire them after 60 days. Once the update goes final the expiration will be removed and you can play it forever. I'm about to announce a public beta for the next Myth II update that will then ship in final forum in the next few weeks.

But I have some films that require a specific build that I'm diligently keeping, otherwise they OOS. What are we supposed to do, refraining from playing any game that is worth preserving when helping you betatest?
