I have a group of friends that's been playing M2 1.5 for a long time now (1.5.1 caused a lot of OOS problems for us - I guess it worked better for most people). We need the 1.5 patch, but unfortunately can't find it on projectmagma...
The last time one of us did a reinstall, we found an old link (http://projectmagma.net/m21.5.shtml), but it apparently redirects to 1.5.1.
Is the 1.5 patch available anywhere?
(I look forward to trying 1.6 when it's out of beta!)
Thanks in advance!
M2 1.5
:sigh: once 1.6 is out of beta it's too late to try it. You then either use it or not. The 1.6 public beta is almost the finished the version the other difference between it and what will ship as 1.6 are a few lines of code fixing minor bugs.
As for 1.5 I'll look around for it and consider adding it to the download pages. We have the ability to build it from scratch but I'd rather not.

Physicist, do try the 1.6 patch, it works better than the 1.5 patch anyway.
Do you and your friends realise you can play together or with others online at the http://playmyth.net metaserver?
Even if you don't want to register an account to play there, you can easily play on http://www.mariusnet.com (click "server", select server, and enter "guest" for username and password; you don't need an account to play on Mariusnet), it is much more convenient than TCP/IP games.

I appreciate the replies.
I know we'd be happy if 1.5 were put back on the download page. Thank you for thinking of us! (Obviously rebuilding it for a small group is not an option, but if you do have it around...)
Well, I can see if anyone will try to give 1.6 a whirl with me. Not all of us are going to touch beta software - but I appreciate your comment that it's basically the finished version. As for mariusnet, that's also a good suggestion. We spend way too much of our game time arguing with the router of whoever volunteered to host... I'll pass it on.

To allay your fears, I can say I've been using each beta build and they're more or less as reliable as the 'final' releases; the 1.6 beta is likely more stable than v1.50 was anyway.
By the way there are Myth 2 games played on Mariusnet at 9pm Friday evenings and 9am Saturday mornings EST U.S. time. You can join in if you want to, but you'll need the M2 TFL Multipack plugin:

Beta software is normally 'free since its high risk'. This stuff is coded by amateurs (in terms of their work for Myth) - if they say its 'safe' its as safe as any final version is gonna be. You trusted patch 1.5, you might as well trust this.
