I'm playing version 1.3 and 1.4 of Myth: TFL on the PC.
Myth 1.5 does not work properly at all.
First I load up the game, my computer dosn't revert the screen resolution to 640x480 which is nessary to run the game, so when the program loads, the screen is really small.
However, I can still see the menu, all the movies load up fine, and the pregame story screen (what ever you'd like to call it) runs properly.
The game itself won't show. I know the game is running because I hear everything thats going on, but I can't see anything its just a big black screen.
I don't have this problem with v1.2 and 1.4, but for some reason when I patch to 1.5 it all gets f***ed up.
Any suggestions?
btw, I can't change the pixel resolution to 640x480 because XP appearance and themes won't allow me too.</ul>
Myth 1.5 for TFL Dosn't work
TFL 1.5 runs in the current resolution of your PC. Now it may have some issues if it can't switch to 16bit color for that resolution. But 1.5 definetly doesn't require 640x480.
Try switching your computer to 16bit also try using the new OpenGL renderer. Also try deleting your old prefs since 1.5 isn't compatible with all the old prefs.

same problem
I am having the same problem with myth tfl. The opening screen and movies are fine, but small. The levels won't load at all. I tried deleting the current preferences and changing my screen size and that didn't work. Any other ideas? Or know where I can find a previous version of the patch? 1.2 is no fun...
I'm having the same problem.
But it's some mystic in my situation!
I've been playing Myth_TFL 1.5 Win XP with software renderer. OpenGL didn't work with the same symptoms.
Later, I've installed/reinstalled Myth2 with different patches for many times (it hadn't run at all, but this post not about that).
Then, accidentally, I tried Myth_TFL with OpenGL in 1024*768 and to my astonishment it worked perfectly (level Homecoming)!
Then, I unninstalled Myth2.
After that Myth_TFL don't run (with the same symptoms) in OpenGL in any resolution.
I tried to reinstall Myth_TFL for many times - all in vain, only software rend.((((
PS: 1) May Myth2 have an influence on Myth_TFL, ot it was a strange accident?
2) What can I do to run TFL in OpenGL mode?
Please, help if you can!! Maybe somebody knows something about OpenGL tuning, or particular preferences??

Myth II has no bearing on TFL. Niether installs anything outside of their own directories so the presence of one won't effect the other.
The OpenGL in TFL for Windows was/is alpha level code. Because TFL runs at your desktop resolution turning down your desktop to 1024x760 or 800x600 can help if you have a lower end video card. If I find some time in the next few months I will merge down the changes from the Myth II OGL renderer made over the past 1.5 years and release an updated TFL.

Thanks for reply!
I still can't repeat successful running TFL with OpenGL, but I know, that it's possible on my laptop. My Intel onboard GPU has some OGL options. Couldn't you post (or give link on) some technical information (preferences: triple buffer, FXT1, etc...) about OpenGL in TFL 1.5?
Thanks in advance!
