Unique attack Crashes Myth for Software Mode

Post by Pyro »

In a plugin called "Shiver's Turn" the Thrall Elite have a special which errupts rocks from the ground. The Thrall then has to grab the rock it created which is an artifact and will switch the monter tags making the Thrall look like it hid underground. This caused one person to crash and only that person. He was running Myth2 1.6 build 286 in PC windowed mode using Software rendering. But it seems when he is not in software mode it doesn't crash. So I put myself to that test. If I use Software rendering and I make the thrall pick up that artifact, I crash. That same plugin has a solo map where your units are given artifacts to switch their monster tags but they do not make me crash no matter what rendering.

All the unit is doing is picking up an artifact that switches its monster tag. Why would this crash people using windowed software mode?

Yeah Zeph, after I found out that other PC users were not crashing I thought it must have been a problem at your end. But when you told me you didn't crash in other rendering modes I tested it on mine.

I installed Myth2 1.6 build 286 classic mode to see if it happens with that one too. In software rendering it crashes just like in window mode using software rendering.

Now the question is... why does this crash? The myth log says nothing except "Myth Crashed."

Can you do this in non-software mode and save the film and then send to me at myrd (at) projectmagma.net?
