Can't even get started (Mac)

Hi all -- I am at the end of my rope and don't know what to do next!
I just got a Macbook (OS X -- 10.4.9) and put the CD in. Click the installer and it says Myth II is not supported on the system. Downloaded the 1.6
installer, clicked on it, said "Could not find the required patches, please reinstall 1.5.1 update." So I downloaded 1.5.1, clicked on it and it said "Please reinstall 1.5.1 update."

Update instructions say you must have Myth II installed before running 1.5.1, but I am in this position because the CD won't let me install it in the first place. I've been going in circles like a dawg chasing its tail!

HELP!! And thanks in advance; I'm looking forward to the game -- I have heard great things about it.

Don't forget to use the OS X only version of 1.6. If you don't performance will be, from what I've heard, terrible.
