I can't help as I no longer have a Mac.
He installed Myth, applied the 1.5.1 update and then the 1.6 Universal update. This leads me to ask - why was the 1.5.1 update necessary? Shouldn't 1.6 updater alone have sufficed?
Anyway, he then goes to run Myth 2. The icon appears briefly in the dock and then disappears. It won't run as such. The contents of myth_log.txt are:-
11.09.98 00:40:32 Myth II running under MacOS ----------------------------------------------
No disc in the drive!
Scanning for software devices...Found 1 to use
Scanning for 3Dfx devices...Found 0 to use
Scanning for RAVE devices...Found 0 to use
It _looks_ like its running v1.3 - searching for a disc and Rave/3Dfx devices. TB assures me though that he's running the 1.6 app bundle.
So ... help!
cheers,
Fe
TB Needs Help! (OSX Problem)
That's definitely not 1.6. But the log is also from '98 - so it's probably a log that came from the CD.
Is he actually on an Intel Mac, because if he's not, the other version will run faster. And even if he is, he should try it anyway, because it still works (just a bit slower).
Generally, on OS X if the app just disappears, its a problem during load time, usually with libraries or something. What version of the OS is he using?
