New Units for Beginners

Post by highscheme »

Hello everyone

I have a lot of ideas as far as new units for Myth II, and I was wondering if there were any guides that go through the process of making a new unit.

I know that it will take a lot of practice to make them highly playable and good looking, but I am interested in what tools I need aside from Myth 2, Fear & Loathing.

Those are the ones I thought of, you should visit this website, it has a lot of links to other free softwares.

This is the first step to making a myth unit, modelling it in full 3D! It will take a lot of practice and patience to learn it, good luck!

You'll also need Amber, which only runs on a Mac in OS 9 or Classic mode. I'm not familiar with the PC program.

The PC version of Amber is called Tahoe and it is no where as useful as Amber. Tahoe can only export/replace existing images and color tables from an existing collection. Amber can do that and much more, which is why only Mac users can make new collections. Unless there is an existing collection that has exactly what you want in which case you can just replace the color table and its images.

If you are asking how to turn 3D models into Myth units, I don't think there is one single authoritative source that gives ALL the instructions, details and issues you might have to deal with but here are a couple of articles that go over the basics and a bit more.

Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.
