Creating a Custom Interface
I am interested in making a custom interface for the online portion of Myth 2. Are there any FAQs available on the process?

Nope. Or at least, I don't think there are, but feel free to ask any questions and I am sure anyone here would be glad to help.
The easiest way to do it, at least...the way I did it, is to look in the small install file with amber, then export the tags you want to change. Then you can "mirror" everything in photoshop/whatever program you are using. Then you know the size it needs to be, where the buttons are going to go, etc.
When you say the "online" portion of myth, do you mean just the lobby?
If so, you are looking for "Internal Metaserver Graphics".

There used to be a tutorial at mythvillage.org but I've been unable to recover it (too many saved versions of the site at archive.org for me to plow through them all).Death's Avatar wrote:Nope. If you are wanting to change the server interface I suggest starting with some of the PlayMyth custom interfaces as those will have isolated the relevant graphic files you need to change.
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.

Actually, I would encourage you to only half do that. The playmyth interfaces only contain a "Internal Metaserver Graphics" tag anyway, but interfaces have since changed. They no longer load in such a manner, and now can be built as "interfaces" (via fear), and placed in the plugins folder, to be selected in the preferences with the "interfaces" button. Interfaces loaded via the preferences will (should) override any other interfaces (for example, the ones that accompany the metaserver).vinylrake wrote: If you are wanting to change the server interface I suggest starting with some of the PlayMyth custom interfaces as those will have isolated the relevant graphic files you need to change.
If you want a little more direction than that, feel free to hop on uDogs (hl.udogs.net via a hotline client), or shoot me a PM, or just post on here.
