Myth's future, the time is now.......UNITE!!!

Post by GodzFire »

Consider this me raising the Myth battle standard.

Microsuck's spell over Bungie has broken, and the sun is begininng to shine again.

I emerge from the shadows, and urge everyone to come together.

We must let Bungie, especially the people still there from the Myth days, that the series is still alive and the players are loyal. We must petition their support for the possible re-purchase of the Myth franchise. We must stand together, because if we don't, we'll never have another chance......

.......the time is NOW!!!

The Return of Bungie net

Post by Point »

well who knows what the future brings... though microsoft made
them a offer they couldnt refuse all those years ago .... they did
what they had to do and should of done and in the end came
out stronger and intact you got to admire them for that ....

kudos... and time to look forward to their next big title ....
if one does not learn from the failings of the past they are likely to suffer its return.

I talked to someone from Bungie way back in 2000-2001. This was when the company still had a number you could call and you could talk to a real human being employed by Bungie. I don't even remember his name or what he did, but he told me that after two back-to-back Myth games, Bungie would not be looking to revisit the franchise for quite a while. He said they were excited about Halo and that's what they're gonna stick with.

Now ... has it been a really long time? Do you think they'd go from making Halo 3 right into making Myth 3 (the real one, not that piece of garbage)? I'm willing to be the next thing we see out of Bungie is something Halo spin-off (not FPS) or something new entirely. I wish Myth were on their agenda, but I can't see that even beginning to happen for another few years. If Bungie buys the Myth rights back just a few months before their next release, then we can get excited. Otherwise, I'm not going to get my Myth hopes up.

Bungie will never "Revisit" Myth (at least, not anytime soon).

Instead, there should be a focused attempt for them to reclaim the license and go Open Source freeware.
I decided to look up in the sky, and lo and behold there was a BoB. I stared at him, and he stared back. There was silence for a great while until he said in a thunderous, booming voice..."Okay, Okay, DON'T Frogblast the ventcore."

So they should spend money on getting the license back just so they can give the game away for free? That doesn't make sense except in the land of hippies. Everything costs money in the real world and folks gotta eat.

I think cobalt was saying the community should buy it back and open source it, not Bungie.

I don't even know if Jason is still there or not. He only got "special thanks" in the credits of Halo 3.

If you read any of the articles about Bungie splitting from MicroSoft you are bound to see quotes from Jason Jones - he is usually mentioned as Bungie founder and partner - and in the quotes I've seen he talks about the partnership and plans for the future. Definitely SOUNDS like he is still a very active part of Bungie and will be in the future.
