Post by carlinho »

anybody ever saw or did a crocodile unit ?

I was intending to throw some nasty crocs in the Asian marshes against hoplites...
and croc 3d models cost like 20 $...so would love to save that...and time....hehehe

huh. seems like someone would have used a crocodile or alligator for some conversion before now but I can't think of one.

The only reptilian units I can think of (not counting turtles of course) would be the swampmen in Tomb Robber (nothing like what you want I know), and.... um... I vaguely recall some reptilian units in the DreamSeedz conversion? (again nothing like what you want).

I didn't see it there.

I think these screenshots show some the reptilian units that were mentioned early in this thread (alive and dead)

http://tmbm.8m.com/cgi-bin/i/riverattacklarge.gif

http://tmbm.8m.com/cgi-bin/i/soldierslarge.gif

the Dreamseedz page (pre-actual release) I found the images on is at http://tmbm.8m.com/ds.htm

On a side note: This single order 'project' page has the highest ratio of unfinished to finished projects I think I've ever seen. I really wish TMBM had finished more of their announced projects, they sound like they would have been a lot of fun.

Didn't the 7th God have some wingless dragons that might pass for crocs? Or were they dragons that had wings but just couldn't fly? Can't remember for sure.

I also seem to remember a Marathon conversion that had lizard-ish monsters in it, but I can't remember what it was called. I'll look around.

the marathon conversions I am aware of are: (I am not positive these are all different conversions)

Somewhere in the Heavens
Maramyth
I'll S'pht On Your Grave
Marathon TC tagset

No, sorry, I wasn't clear. I was talking about a Marathon conversion in the actual Marathon game, not converting it to Myth. Like RED, or EVIL, or Rubicon.

Come to think of it, maybe I was remembering the dinosaurs in Morgana's Revenge. Those wouldn't work. Oh, well.

what do you think of this baby...

http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/shop/itemdetails/-/?item=2306

dunno...maybe...
... if after paying my bills this month I still have some greens in the pocket and I skip dining out some day, I might then go for it....

and I know what you are thinking Zeph!!! hahahaha

I'm going through sideways instead of finishing the plug I keep adding things...hahaha I hope I don't end like dreamseeds!! too many great things that never saw the light!!!!!
but wait until I return to LA and I can post some screenshots of the last colourmap I'm doing for the plug and you'll understand why some nasty real crocs could look interesting....

of course if anybody sees something similar in any plugin...pleeeeeaaaseee!!! help me saving some molaaaaaaaaa

by the way...loved those pics you posted of dreamseeds, really simple colormap but great displacement! nice work!
