Plz help

Looks like you must have selected the "Add dual-rotor windmill model shading"" option instead of the standard "Add model shading" option.
Lots of Myth stuff at http://mythgraveyard.org.
Sometimes I put hard to find stuff in my my Udogs folder.

Did you have a model located where the blade shadow is falling and then later move it? It looks like there is a roughly squarish section of the mesh that is displaced. I assume you removed all shadows, saved and then reapplied shadows?Souly wrote:o thx....but if some one can help me with the mindmill isue it would be great.

this is what i have done, your welcome to go try it...
OPen a map, any map....woof out the windmill model anyware you want...remove shadows, add then add them again, then woof out the blades animation.
Rember this is the standard windmill in myth, no mods nothing.
Wha la you get my isue....
I have tryed to add the shadows after and before adding the blades
still no luck.

iirc you just have to remove all shadows and add them back in again (i.e. - don't generate shadows until AFTER the windmill blades are placed).
I've had problems like this with other things, such as the gates from "Down a broken path" where the shadows screw up, but I can't remember how I fixed that in the end =(
But as I say, if I remember right the shadows for the model animation are generated, but stored somewhere else when do you "add model shading", but if you don't do it after placing your blades then it will frequently screw up as you're seeing.

Thx Haravikk.
But like i said, even if i add the shadows after or before, it still does it...
I go , "unprotect all mesh" then remove shadows....add the model then the blades, after all that then i add the shadow.
Your right , there is something one has to do, i had this before but also cant rember how i sorted it out.

Have you tried selecting the blades and choosing:
Maps -> Shadow Map -> Remove model animation shadows
Maps -> Shadow Map -> Calculate model animation shadows
I just noticed those options again, been ages since I touched them, I'll warn you that calculating model animation shadows can take AGES on a slower machine, it caused my G5 to pause for a few minutes even though calculating full model-shadows is instantaneous on this thing.

Hehe.
I know if i add model shadow it takes some time, but if i click on calculate model animation shadow, with the animation selected it doesnt freez.
Maps -> Shadow Map -> Remove model animation shadows
This removes it alright, but doesnt fix it.

This , i dont dont know, doesnt seem like its doing anything....
Unless this is a windows Loathing Bug.
IF some one with a Mac can try loathing a mindmill.

Hrm, this doesn't sound right, on my Mac it hangs Loathing completely until it's done, just like when doing normal shadows.Souly wrote:Maps -> Shadow Map -> Calculate model animation shadows

I can't get it to happen =PHaravikk wrote:IF some one with a Mac can try loathing a mindmill.
Any chance you could dump your particular map in my drop-box on hotline or e-mail it to me at admin |at| haravikk |dot| com? I can have a fiddle around with it then, please remember any tags needed to open it, don't get much time to sit down and experiment with these things lately.
