Loathing Crashes.

Post by Skeetz »

When I import my indexed color map into Loathing, nothing happens if I dont move the camera, but a few seconds after I do, loathing simply crashes without any errors.

The Myth Log:

2008-06-14 20:35:26 loathing running under WinNT ------------------------------------------------------------
Loading Patch Files...
Patch 1.2
Patch MariusNet
Patch 1.3
Patch 1.4
Patch 1.4 Interface
Patch 1.5
Loading Patch Files Succeeded
Crashed!

Any idea what's going on? My map is a 256x256 ap, and is indexed. II can load any of the standard maps just fine. When i do load my map, I see a bunch of black triangles near the edges. Is that a sign of what's wrong?

Your map's size has to be multiplicity of 256, for example: 512, 1024, but cannot be exact 256. That's why Loathing crashes when you load your map.

Loathing meshes are made up parts called Sub-Meshes, or a 256x256 pixle portion.

Any one map needs to have at least 4 submeshes. This is the equivilant of 512x512 pixles in Photoshop or your image editing program. Any less and Loathing will crash on load.

Keep in mind that 512x512 is REALLY small.
For reference, Gimble is 1280x1280 (which is 5x5 submeshes)
