it could only work if the unit was immobile, then it would only have an animation where it would rotate it's turret to attack...
let's say, by inventories, you have a regular artifact where they behave normally, and an switching inventory you could rotate just the turret
problem is when you switch back to normal, and let's say you left the turret facing backwards...a "visual glitch" would occur when suddenly the unit appears all of a sudden looking the other way...
conclusion=its not possible

Yeah... and presumably it should also be able to move forward while having its turret at an angle. Also not possible.

point!
your collections are amazingly vast and well done!!!
but somehow I can't make them work...
I see them in loathing...
but it crashes any time I try to load a game...

do I need to use them altogether with a plugin?
which local I need to download?
how can I test them?

shoot me a PM

Maybe if the tank moved slowly and it was two units put together with a little script. The turrent unit always being moved on the tank unit via script. But even then it might not look too normal, like if there were a delay with the script.

Maybe you could somehow have a transition sequence where the turret moved to front before switching monsters... another example of a potential use of a transition sequence!! (another would be take off and land) Or you could just make 8+ monsters, each with the turret facing a different direction, and just monster switch artifacts constantly. Not very practical though.

I don't think it's possible, even with a transition, you could never know where the turret was left...if left, right, back or with no movement at all...

that's why I picked the JagdPanther (apart from being the only 3d tank I have....for free...haha)
as it doesn't have a turret....it doesn't look awkward that it turns to fire....hehehe

tanks...

Post by Point »

looks just as good if the turret goes up and down then fires Hawk-ARMY rendered all the basic wwii tanks way back we had them in a few ARMY maps I rendered a couple more with drivers that came out of hatches and more animations though never ambered them...

I should still have everything ... I had a hd crash that lost the main data base though i'm sure i Have it all backed up on cd's some where...

in the turn animation the turret could move first then the tank upon catching up it could fire...

depending on the resolution conclusions I could re run the renders at a higher res...

Carlinho I play Company of Heroes thats a good game. Be nice to be able to do that with myth. or close. As far as turrets go yeah the Jagd Panther would be good cause the turret doesnt turn. I vote for sticky bombs.!

hahaha
I was about to post yesterday a link to Company of Heroes....

I was doing some research on maps and building looks for constructing the town of CARENTAN, and I came across that game (which I had no idea it existed)
it's like a high res updated version of myth!
I was tempted to post a link to it here, saying the effort to do high res WWII would be in vain as there is already that version in Company of heroes!! haha
but then I said to myself...that it would be not very gentle to ourselves to shoot us on the feet...by doing so...

and anyways every time I play a newer game for good they might be, I always come back to myth, as it's the game I love most, the only game I know how to mod
and what I really enjoy far more than playing.. is creating new worlds...

But I grabbed a still of the carentan map from Company of heroes...
and I'm willing to copy it...
so if you guys think it's worth it...
and any of you guys still want to play wwii in myth...
I may start work on some models to see if they are FUN....or don't add anything new at all...

You can get gun sounds from Day of Defeat. Think i Have them all somewhere on a disk before it hit steam. Love the sound of the BAR.

I'm doing it!!!!!!

it's just that the units are almost done and the maps too, but the units need to be balanced and the plugin made more FUN and then we need to script

I'm waiting until Pompey, Death's avatar, Gugusm and Jagman have free time to work together on this to finish it....

so in the meantime I get eager and I need to focus on whatever not to get bored...hehehe

I promise this side thing won't make the Greek plug get delayed!!!!

and certainly the Greek plug doesn't need more eye candy!!!! it needs muscle!!!!!!
so I don't want to do any eye candy on it any more until it is FUN to play.

If you want more testing/feedback I could request that your greek tagset be added to OoH's battleplan - that way it's bound to get some play during our weekly carnage fest. fwiw, most of us are VERY experienced testers.
