Problem with installing patch 1.7

Post by Scumbag Trillionaire »

I have myth running fine (1.5.1), until I try to manually install 1.7. The problem is, my tags folder has stuff in it now (before I try to install 1.7), but when I put in the 1.7 tags folder, it has nothing in it. This has to be the reason why it keeps saying "cannot find all foundation files" when I try to run it. I am running a mac, and the thing is, I know I have gotten this to work before, but I deleted myth off of my computer entirely about 3 months ago. I think it is something really simple, but I just can't seem to figure it out. Also, if its any help, I can run fear (fear 1.7, which I pasted in successfully), and some of tags ARE there, but the majority are missing, including formations. Thank you for the help.

Install using 1.5.1. Then update with 1.7, no need to replace the "tags" folder if 1.7's update has that folder as empty.

If you're doing a "manual" install of 1.7, and you already have functioning 'tags' in your 'tags' folder (I have a full install, my tags folder under "Get Info" reads in at 513 megabytes), don't replace them with anything. All Myth needs in its main directory is to have a folder named tags. If you had the CD in your drive, and you have a tags folder but it's empty, myth will still launch, and simply read the tags off the CD. 1.7 doesn't physically contain those 513 mbs worth of tag data that came with the original CD, however it does come with a simple _folder_ named tags, which would be required to launch the game.

When you do the manual install, simply don't replace your tags folder.
