I'm having trouble. When i plug in the beta from hl.udogs.net, it starts the game with regular units and a network game style game that says Light 0%. Now is this a problem with my comp or is it with the plugin?

Thanks,
topgunz

To whom it may Concern,

Thank You for “magma_SpecialForces2(FC1)”

I get a crash to the desktop everytime I try to load this plugin, solo/co op or Multi-player.

Running: Myth II 1.5 (Mac manual Install)

Rig: Mac G4 OS 9.2.2

Have tried.....

1) Removing my ‘custom’ LOCAL folder and letting
Myth II create it’s own generic LOCAL folder after
Myth II restart.

2) Removing any conflicting plugins.
( The only plugin I have is
‘magma_SpecialForces2(FC1) , the rest of my
plugins came with the Myth II 1.5 update).

3) With & with-out patch 1.3

4) Tried to upload this entire report to Ozone's box
box on hotline.(uploads/Users uploads/Ozone's
uploads/SF_project uploads-I get a ‘File Exists’
but do not see any other matching reports)

I know it’s only a beta, but I thought you at Projectmagma could take a look at this data.

Too big for here but here is a cut from the myth_log.txt.

The start of the report.

Here is the end of the report.....

Starting mesh "|iCarnage Islands|b CTF-CO-OP" with 1 plugins...
magma_SpecialForces2(FC1)
Closing Myth.

One odd note though, when I removed my ‘Custom’ LOCAL folder and play with Myth II’s generically created LOCAL folder, then chose to play ‘Into the Breach’, which should be dwarves, swords and the like, I get the SF2 models.

I checked out the ‘new’ SF2 models and noticed a change of sounds right away. I like the ‘new’ gun sounds very much. I can’t wait to see and play this plugin when it’s finalized!.

Try taking out GB_(Patch 1.3)V1.1 in your plugins folder,
this is not needed...

let me know what happens now...
do it.

Thank you for responding so quickly Ozone.

Your suggestion about removing GB_(Patch 1.3)V1.1., did not solve my problem.

I think I have to re-build my custom LOCAL folder (which has SF1 units built into it)

Just to let you know, SF-2 works just as it supposed to in solo play.

If the masses did not get/have the Green Berets expansion pack and you drop this SF-2
plug-in in the plug-ins folder, it does do what it supposed to do.

It changes the med-evil units to SF-2 units. Excellent!!! I love it. Absolutley phenomanal!

My Intent is to create a custom LOCAL folder with the SF2 /Green Berets/WWII stuff built in.

I was able to do this with Carnage Island/Tactical Ops mesh and SF1 units.

When Projectmagma released Myth II 1.5, I instantly recognised that the game would not crash anymore if you created a monster custom LOCAL folder by extracting/pulling apart WW II plugins, GB_SoloMeshes_V1.1, GB_(Patch 1.3)V1.1. and putting them all into one custom folder.

It just floored me. I have VC/WW II guys coming at my Green Berets with Helo’s & Tanks. And just when I was just starting to tweak all the stuff you tweak in the game to make it just right.....

The long awaited and much appreciated Carnage Islands/SF1 along with SF_Tactical Training Ops was released. Now I am not kidding, but all I did was drop those 3 plugins in the plugins folder which did have the GB_(Patch 1.3)V1.1 in it (also extracted and built into my custom local folder at the same time). And with this new monster custom LOCAL folder that I had created, all three plugins cranked up flawlessly.

Now that all three plugins worked, I needed to extract / pull them apart and put all of them into my monster custom LOCAL folder, which I then proceeded to play all the levels of the Green Berets expansion pack with the new SF1 units, flawlessly. I have manipulated a few choice WWII plugins to see if the SF1 units play well with others. flawlessly, and continues to this moment until.....

I read in the forums recently that SF2 is in beta, I poked around, obtained it, dropped it in my plugins folder hoping for the same results as SF1. No go, the results are above.

I have since proceeded to extracting/pulling apart SF2, and put all the folders contents into my custom LOCAL folder, totally writing over the SF1 files in each folder I transfer. Cranked up the game with and without GB_(Patch 1.3)V1.1. But, No go.

I feel I may have to go back to my Archived Custom Local folder, the one built just before I put in the SF1
stuff, then drop in the new SF2 stuff, and see if the game cranks up then. I will let you know.

Thanx for the input.

thanx oz. Ur 1.3 suggestion worked. Other problems were cause because my SB CD was scratched and ruined. Luckily i borrowed my friends copy and burned that. Got a clean one and ran your plug without GB_Patch 1.3. It was succesful

thanx

btw-your plugin is hardcore. Its more realistic now. The support unitz special cheer and the tanks cheer cracked me up.

OK, Ozone, I’m back from testing the theory that my custom Local folder had to be re-built.

I was correct.

What fixed it was...

You cannot overwrite SF-1 files with SF-2 files.

Grabbing an Archived ‘Base’ GB/WW2 LOCAL folder created in Myth II 1.5 from a CD I burnt when Carnage Island was first released,

(this custom folder does not have any SF stuff in it yet)

I then chose not to extract SF-1 , but instead, I chose to extract SF-2 into this LOCAL folder .

This worked for me, And I’m back up & running with this new ‘ GB/WW2/SF-2 Local Folder.

I just love the TeamLeaders new pump shot-gun, the new sounds, it seems the enemy is a little more aggressive and I really do like that a lot.

Please do not abandon this Special Forces project, I waited for over a year for Carnage Islands, and it was well worth the wait. I know that You put a lot of effort into Carnage Islands and the Special Forces, and it shows.

I am amazed that this SF-2 plugin has yet again added even more replayability to Myth II and continues to apply even more bang for my buck.

What I enjoyed the most from SF-1 was the PT Boats, then the clusternades.

Tanks, Helos and PT Boats equipped with clusternades as primary weapons can be very lethal.

So Far, My SF-2 favorite features are the new sounds and pump shot-gun.

I just wanted to pop in and tell Ozone that my problem was MY Bad, before I disappear and go tweak the heck out of the new SF-2 stuff.

I am patiently awaiting for SF-2 to be finalized.

Thanx to all involved.
