also.. Metaservers folder has 7 folders inside and .DS_store file - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Openplay modules folder has ONLY .DS_store file - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Put in plugins folder has 6 patch files and .DS_store file. Now when I double click the .DS_store file a window pops up titled "Open With". Under the title are the instructions "chose the program you want to use to open the file '.DS_store'. If the program is not in the list click, Other.

The icon for the .DS_store file is a page icon with the Windows colorful windows symbol.

.DS_store is an osx file (invisible under that operating system). just delete it whenever you find it.

I downloaded it YET AGAIN, and the file IS there. Are you downloading it from this link?

http://projectmagma.net/files/sb/Myth2_15_PB2.zip

Again, if you still don't see the TCPIP.dll file inside the openplay modules folder adter downloading that, then the problem is on your end - may be get different unzipping software, or perhaps your virus checker is deleting it thinking its a virus, or something like that. The fact is, TCPIP.dll IS IN THERE, I downloaded it two times, just to make sure!

I understand that when YOU download it, that the tcpip file is there. However it is NOT when I download it. So I am asking for a solution to why it is not showing up for me. That is why I provided all the info above, where I downloaded from, what appeared after unzipping, and what happened when I tried to open the .DS_store file. From the info. I think I am missing a program that can open .DS_store. Is it possible that if I am missing a program to open .DS_store, then the tcpip file is not being created? Is it possible that the tcpip file is created automatically if I have the correct program to open ds_store? Or since tcpip is not being created due to some error during unzipping, that the ds_store file is created instead? Do you see the ds_store in four locations after YOU unzip?

No. Ignore the .DS_Store files, they are irrelevant. They are usually invisible files on Mac OS X that store things about the directory, such as the position of the icons, etc. For windows, they are irrelevant and you can ignore them. I do not see the .DS_Store file because I unzip it on Mac OS X, so any .DS_Store files are automatically made invisible to me - either way they are irrelevant. The fact is, the TCPIP.dll file is in the zip, the reason you are not seeing it must be because of something specific to your set up, such as having bad unzip software, for example.

.DS_Store, is a Mac OSX file. It gets put into every folder created on OSX. Since the folders in the installer were created on OSX, those folders have a .DS_Store inside of them. The file is used to index, OSX for faster searching. It is completely useless on a window's machine. And there IS NO correct application to open it, unless that correct application is MacOSX.

I think the most probable cause, is a virus checker program or something that deletes the file, because it thinks it is bad.
If Magma is OK with it, I could host the tcp/ip.dll file, so you can try downloading from a different host, you'll have to ask them though.
The main thing i want to say though, is dont worry about the .ds_store file, its not the problem.

I guarantee that the problem is not virus protection, or any other program that is deleteing it, because I kill most apps/programs before I connect to the internet. I am on a dial up and am used to killing all programs not vital to connecting to my isp and playing mythII multiplayer(previously). I dont believe the problem is my unzip programs. I have used winrar and winzip and both failed to produce tcpip. I guess the only constant I can think of is that I always download from the same place (mentioned in above post). So I will try and download from mirror#1 or mirror#2 and see if that solves the problem. Also I won't kill any background apps/programs this time. Maybe a missing app/program is the problem.

Well, neither worked. The link and unzip produced Myth3 Open Play folder. Inside was Openplay folder which was empty and along side it was .DS_Store file. So for some reason my computer wont produce the tcpip with a download and unzip. I asked a clan member to upload the tcpip file to my email, but not sure how fast that will happen.

I have an idea. Zooked, open the OpenPlay folder in Windows Explorer. Go to the Tools menu and click on Folder Options, then the View tab. (I'm assuming things are in the same place on Win98SE as Win2k). If the "Hide protected operating system files" option is checked, uncheck it. Then see if TCPIP.DLL is present.

Iron, I came back to say I just figured it out. When I was in the Myth3_OpenPlay folder that I unzipped I saw that it said 3 object files and 1 HIDDEN file. I then clicked View, 2 over from File on the top left of window, then down to bottom option - folder option. Once in folder options I clicked View tab then under Files and Folder - Hidden Files I put a dot in the Show All Files circle and there it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :p
