I tried to run the cd installation on windows xp for myth III and it won't run, then reading the requirements I read it says windows 98/2000...
is it possible to install it and play on windows xp?

I have Windows XP, and it works fine here. I installed it withe SP 1, and I'm pretty sure if should still run with SP 2. I haven't loaded up that game in ages.

they told me it sucks, so I'm not dying if it doesn't work, but somehow...it doesn't...

someone i know had a problem of the screen going white after install. This was a result of only haveing a 32mb vid card. You need atleast a 64mb card to play m3.

Absolutely! 
It is kind of weird, I was gonna buy Myth 3 for Mac when it was $50, but I waited and waited, and then I bought Myth 3 for $3. 
It's actually really nice, and I'm gonna play through it once I finish with Myth 2.

uhhh maybe the Myth cd I bought is faulty...I have a 128mb nvidia video card...

Um..I just re-read you origional post. Are you saying that the installation program won't run? If so, the it's probably a scratch on your CD causing the problem. :\
