Hi, I get the blue screen of death 80% of the time I try to play Myth II... I deleted my preferences folder, but, looking at my logfile I see that I did not remove all the old patches... so that may be the problem. But, before I go doing things willy-nilly I am posting myth_log.txt right after I got BSOD and hope for a speedy reply :)

You need the old patches. My guess is your BSOD is due to buggy Direct3D drivers for your video card. Playing in Software Mode should solve your problem.

No, I was in software mode... I switched to using the video card for rendering and that BSOD'ed as well...

I have a Toshiba P25-S477 laptop with a 2.4ghz processor and 512megs ram. nvidia geforce FX Go5200 with 32mb ram.

I am using XP with Service Pack 2 and every recent update as far as I know.

Also, why would software rendering be faster than using the video card? I've always wondered why it was the default setting.

Am I the only person getting the BSOD???! I havent seen any other posts regarding it.

Perhaps I should visit the nvidia website for patches to my driver?

I figured it out. My Phillips stereo has a USB link to my laptop to play audio. When I uninstalled the software for that, I had no problems playing a full game....

I'm going online now for some more action and to try to see if I can play 2 games in a row with no problem...
