Hello,

I was wondering how you can tell beforehand whether a map or plugin would be multiplayer or just single player before bothering to download it?

I've downloaded many maps/plugins from a while back and a few more recently, and alot of them seem to be multiplayer only (and I'm not sure how you can play the multiplayer maps without having to bother with an internet connection, ala Half-Life or Jedi Knight 2).

All plugins for Myth are .gor files, so you can't differentiate between singleplayer and multiplayer plugins that way. If the website or server you're downloading the plugs doesn't tell you if the plug is for singleplayer, multiplayer or both, then you'll just have to guess - or ask a bud or two about it.

Note: you can play all plugins, even if you don't have an internet connection. Click on the "multiplayer game" button - on the main Myth screen. Then click on the "other" button. At the next screen, you are given the option to host a game, and that way you can mess around with any plug - whether it's designed for multiplayer or not. Hope that helps.

Okay, I got the Multiplayer plugin (in this case, "Reborn")up and running, but can you use these plugins as a single-player game (meaning, for example, I pull up the menu and there's the one team ("My Computer"), and I can't figure out how to create a second team (which I would create for the computer or a.i., like in a single-player game); it only allows me to create more team members for the "My Computer" team).

In other words, is there a way to play these multiplayer maps/plugins (against the computer) that I can't figure out?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry there is now way to play against the computer in most multiplayer plugins. If you have a 2nd computer you could join the game over a LAN and create a 2nd team, but they wouldn't do anything other then auto attack if attacked(not what you are looking for).

I recall an anciet Myth:TFL plug that allowed you to fight against an enemy army on multiplayer maps. Since Myth doesn't have any true AI, the enemy would just rush you, but I found it useful, when I needed a confidence boost. ;)

Ghost created a plug-in called "Gabe in the Wimble" based on a script I was trying to create, it allowed you to play a deathmatch game of Gimble in the Wabe with two computer players (Myth doesn't allow more than three players at once on solo), it was pretty neat as he scripted a fairly decent AI.

Okay, I think it's best I ask this now before I end up downloading another plugin that I can't use:

Can anyone tell me if any of the following plugins include a single player map at all?

A Shattered Visage
Blue And Grey V2
Carnage Islands/Special Forces
Mazzarin's Demise III AND IV
The Woods Out Back

I've already downloaded too many that I can't use (or, in other words, Multiplayer only)

Help is appreciated, thanks.

A Shattered Visage - Nope

Blue And Grey V2 - Yes, I think it's called Honor Redeemed. There's only one co-op with that plug, although the other meshes will work with the plug enabled.

Carnage Islands/Special Forces - Can't recall.

Mazzarin's Demise III AND IV - Each and every Mazz is created for singleplayer and co-op, no multi.

The Woods Out Back - This should be single player and co-op only.
