Super Lag All The Time™ - Please Be Making Help!

Yo.

Around last week, I was playing Myth over the internet and all of a sudden it started lagging horribly. Like, it freezes every few seconds. Delay is aweful. This happens in the PlayMyth lobby too.

I know it's not just normal lag because it happens while I'm playing with Will too (and he lives 1 street away). I know it's just Myth, because I was playing Marathon with him last night, and it was fine.

Now, if I am correct, nothing has happened to change anything to do with Myth when this started. It happens with both 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 (274), and I'm running Windows XP.

Apparently Will said he was having the same problem around the same time, but I can't get a definant answer on if it's still happening or not. If it is, then there's something up with our ISP.

Well, I don't think I'm having any problem at all because I've been downloading movies with no trouble and Myth is running like a trooper. Sure I have. It's the old mixup. As they say it's a new lap record.

No look - I had killer lag when joining Sard's game because he's in another country and has 56k. Oh ok fine Cid. (He's sitting behind me correcting me).

I refuse to yeah. Look - I don't know.

One time I had sudden, unexplained lag like you're talking about Cid, and it was because Windoze's DNS had gone awol - a reboot fixed it. OTOH you're playing 'thon ok so that can't be the problem. I presume you're talking purely network lag, not input/graphics lag like you'd see in solo mode and watching a film? Tried the old magic bullet of trashing prefs etc?

Lo and behold, Will is having the same problem too. It is our asshole ISP. >_>

Still, they've fucked my favourite game... I can fall back to the Marathon community.

Anyway, uh, maybe iiNet is just upgrading crap. It could be that. Either that, or you'll have to find a way to start stealing my internet when I get a new ISP.
