Problem with the Myth II v1.6 Patch

Nevermind... turns out build 282 is not evil after all. It was a video card driver issue. Go figure. I must have not installed the right one or none at all after my reformatting.

Is the OS X version of 1.6 supposed to work with OS X.2? The un-OS X named version of 1.6 runs fine for me but I couldn't even get a splash screen when I tried the OS X version.

I'll try it again to confirm in case I was hallucinating or trying to run it under OS 9 or something similar n00bish, and if it doesn't work I'll post the log file errors.

The "OS X" version is for 10.3.9+. Right now, the PPC part of that version has some issues, so I'd recommend to using the regular version, unless you are on an Intel-processor Mac, in which case you should use the new version which is a Universal Binary.

Also, before anyone posts it, the chat backlog flickering when up arrow is pressed is a known issue. No need to report it, we are aware (and it will be fixed).

Also the build was made for 10.4 only though it may run on 10.3.9. But the PPC version goes OOS as soon as the game start so wait for the next build for the OS X only build & PPC machines.

I've spoken to Pyro and his issues seem unrelated to 282/1.6. He tested with 280 and is getting the same thing. I'm guessing since he just formatted/re-installed, he is missing updated graphic card drivers.

:( It would seem I had some driver not properly installed. But now with drivers reinstalled I can load the game under build 282 in OpenGL and in Direct3D without the alt tab blackout problem or the myth crashing.

Just the up arrow messages flickering problem you guys already knew about.

ok. Thanks for the info.

Just curious, is the seperate OS X 10.4 build needed because of OS requirements in US X 10.4 or is it Intel chip related?

i think, correct me if im wrong though, that its the first of the efforts to make myth into a universal binary so it can run natively on intel macs. When fully completed it should be the only macosx myth build needed, and shud run on all versions of mac osx, but at the moment it only runs properly on intel machines, is faulty on ppc and doesnt work for pre 10.4 systems. When completed we should just have the UB i believe

Yes the UB should become the default OS X app. The goal is to support 10.3.x & 10.4+ on PPC & 10.4 on Intel. It just takes some more work to get Xcode to build a Universal binary that runs on 10.3. Or at least works without issue.

I've had a problem with the Universal. When I press the up arrow, the text seems to be flashing on and off. I'm using a G5, btw.
