Help with TFL
Help with TFL
I have the Total Codex and wanted to get my son into myth tfl. I copied the tfl folder to my hard drive, copied modules and tags into it, ran the 1.5.1 update on the folder.
It starts and I went through the tutorial but I cannot start a new game as it is dimmed. What did I do wrong?

Ok, let me see if I can help you.
First, the current patch for Myth TFL is version 1.5, not 1.5.1, which is a Myth 2 Patch. Make sure you are using 1.5!
If this is not the problem, go to your myth folder and locate a file called myth_log.txt. Post it's contents here.
Doing an install directly from the cd could also help.

Install question Total Codex
I, too, have the Total Codex, and I'm wondering if there is a walk-through for installing it on an Intel Macbook running OS X 10.4.9.
I get this message with the TFL & Soulblighter discs: You cannot open the application "Myth The Fallen Lords Installer" because it is not supported on this system.

Thanks! Hidden files?
Thanks for the link.
I'm new to Macs (well, it's been 10 years), and I copied over the folders but all the folders say they have "no items" in them.
So, I know that the folders copied 'stuff' over, since it took a few minutes to get it all copied over.
Now, I wondering if I need to set something in 10.4.9 that allows me to see the hidden files--similar to Win XP, so I can delete the "Networking Only" file mentioned in the thread. Anyone familiar with 10.4.9?

No need to see
I went ahead and installed the update for M2 and ran it without any difficulties.
The 5.0 update patch for TFL is causing some weirdness for me. At first I noticed the graphics look sharper and it runs at the resolution my desktop is, but then I went to move some units around a map. Right click for some reason attacks ground. I can't assign units in formation or indicate their view direction at all. It's like the purpose of the right click has been completely redefined.

Huh yeah, in TFL 1.5 they changed what right click does... don't ask me why, I think it worked perfectly the old way.
But you can still declare formation and directions. Select the units, press the formation key [1-9], then when clicking on the ground, move the mouse to the direction you want you units to face as you do the left click.
It's a bit tricky, but with practice you'll get used to it.
