The Myth2 1.6 patch on OSX wont open!

I have installed the original myth 2, and have downloaded the 1.6 for OSX as well as placed all the files in the myth 2 folder, but when I go to start the game from the Myth ll 1.6(universal) file, nothing happens. nothing. It acts like its opening and my computer makes some thinking noise, but then nothing. It doesn't even tell me something is wrong. If anyone has a clue what I could do I would certainly apreciate some advice. I havnt played myth 2 in sooo long and hope I still can.
