Getting pings to show up from behind router?

Hiya, I connect via a pretty standard Router->Cable modem setup, but I get pings for no games in myth. Is there some other port I have to forward to get pings to appear? Just give me the one line "networking speak" answer and I should be able to figure this out... I'm pseudo competant!
