Mac OSX 1.6 updating failure

After following the instructions provided with the 1.6 download I can no longer open any version of myth. An error pops up, "Could not find all the foundation files" and asks me to insert the CD or do a full install.

I don't (and haven't had) the CD for this game in years. How can I (A) fix this or (B) revert back to a working 1.5?

Sounds like you didn't do a full install which is causing that problem. Myth2 has 3 different installation modes. The small install mode places the files you need the most, but would require loading from the CD often. The large/full install mode places all the files you need and will not require you to load from the CD (once you update). The 3rd is the network-only mode which does not require the CD to load, but it can only play multiplayer games on a network. Perhaps do it again and make sure you picked the right mode? Wait, I do know that certain MacOS users have to install using files from the actual Myth2 CD. You might not have copied all the required files then.

Did you install 1.5.1 first? :) I got bit by that too at first--1.6 on OS X requires you to install using the 1.5.1 auto installer first.

I think I was already running 1.5.1, not certain. And yes, I *was* running myth on a full install before.

The problem is I can't seem to revert back to a working version of the myth full install.

This seems to have erased or hidden the files from myth. I suppose I'll just uninstall and downloading a new myth from a hotline server.
