hello,
i installed 1.7.1 yesterday on my mac os 10.6, and my ability to host was disabled (firewalled).
i have confirmed this by re-downloaded 1.7.0 and hosting, which encountered no errors.
any ideas?

Is your firewall such that you are allowing the specific executable file and you haven't updated it to use the new one? Even if they are the same name, they have different checksums and dates, etc.
