GB fails to load saved games or ...

Here is the deal: I did the latest add ons for GB. Thank you for all the hard work!!! =)

However, now it fails to load any of the saved games whatsoever...

It appears to start to load, getting to the point of seeing the bullets screen (loading). Then stops, and goes to the main menu screen.

What to do what to do...

What does your myth_log.txt say? Is your local folder empty?

Using saved games from the old GB version(s) will not work with the new GB version. They are not compatible.

No files in the local.

It won't even start a new game.

So it sounds like I need to save the old games folder and reload everything without the new plugins.

New GB works with the new plugins because "New GB" _is_ the new plugins. Unless I am misunderstanding your question.

New GB works with new Myth.

Old GB films don't work with the new GB.

If Myth was running when you were adding new plugins to your plugins folder, you will need to close Myth and reload Myth to see the new plugins added. I am not really understanding what you are saying. You can't load GB maps or old GB saved games? Can you be clear on what the problem is and with what?

If you are trying to start a new game, make sure you load the right files. You probably loaded the mappack and forgot the tagset. You need both.

Reinstalled the GB CD. I then added the GB PAK.
It runs now. I unloaded the items into the PLUGIN file.

(After reviewing some of the other issues in the forum I decided to just reinstall).

So we are good...

I realize you can't help me if I can't tell you whats wrong (lol). I thought I had lost my saved games and was a lil emotional about that =) So more frustration...Too much hard work to get there.

Anyway, thanks for the responses.

I'll finish this HEROIC setting and start on the others you have put together.

By saying "GB PAK", if you meant the new one, then you don't understand that the new GB is not compatible with the old one. Your saved games will continue to use the old GB.

Do not install GB off the CD if you want to play Green Berets, instead download the plugins, otherwise, you will have issues, and not be able to play with other players on mnet.

Thisaway I can take full advantage of the awesome work you have done.

I just want to get it right, and have no issues.

Maybe work my way up to play one of you all =)

As far as I can tell, from single player point of view it appears to be working, but then again I want to do the install correctly.

The correct installation is to use only the new GB files and not the old.

Once you have Myth 2 installed and updated you add the new GB files and get rid of the old GB. Old saved games are not compatible with the new GB so either stick with the old or start over with the new. You activate the mappack and the tagset to get it to play.

You can download the cutscenes and place them in a "cutscenes" folder inside your Myth II folder. This is optional. You can also switch to the GB Interface if you want the whole look.
