Tain Map Listings...

Post by Point »

The tain really should sort pluggins by both group and author... a plug in should show under both lists...

many people have had trouble finding stuff because we listed it as a group and the file doesnt show under the authors name...

for example
Fury author of the map with munitionsfactory map making group... the plugin doesnt show under fury it is only under the group name...

same for Point... searching for points maps will ignore all the maps done with author Point with the group also specified ...

Thanks for your time and effort...

I believe you can already set both an author and a group on an entry and it will have the effect you want.

I think Point is referring to the times when an author decides to set the Tain submission as a "group project". This will not show up for the list of plugins by an author. An example of this would be the TFL Interface. If you check "more by this author" it won't show up there. It would only show up in for "more by this group".

The question remains, is this the desired result or should Point and whoever else just not set submissions as group projects to allow them to be search able between authors and groups?

What about you Point, can you think of a situation where someone would want to select group project but still want the item to show up for the author? If this is what you want, you could just uncheck that box and be good to go.

I think we have been specifying maps with both the author and the group to which the author belongs... which helps if someone goes to look for a map by the author instead of the group... if both fields are specified it would be good if the search could reveal in both lists... plugins by author and plugins by group.
