Do you need a CD to install on mac?

Probably a dumb question, but I can only play demo levels when I've installed Myst 2 (Universal). Do I need some plugin or did I do something wrong? Or do I need a actual CD to install the game? Thanks.

for full game, do you need a CD to install the game. but in both cases (full or demo) also need an up date http://tain.totalcodex.net/mythii/updates
