Hi! I had no idea there was still a vibrant Myth-loving community out there doing such great work and appreciating this classic gem from the past! I have recently re-installed Myth: The Fallen Lords, from my Total Codex set, and it appears to install as version 1.3 and looks terrible on my Win7 computer.
I have downloaded the MythTFL_15_Update file from your website on the hope and assumption that it will make Myth look great again. Are there any specific installation instructions for this file, or do I simply run the .exe and let it do what it wants?
Thanks so much!
Updating MTFL
Re: Updating MTFL
TFL is dead but you can run it under Myth 2. Download it here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/myths ... 896695539/. Update to 1.8.3 and grab The Fallen Levels here: http://tain.totalcodex.net/mythii/.
Re: Updating MTFL
Thank you! So, I will go ahead and un-install M:TFL, install Myth II (either from my Total Codex CD or the Steam page), run the update to 1.8.3, and then get/install the Fallen levels from your included URL. I will let you know if I have any problems!GodzFire wrote:TFL is dead but you can run it under Myth 2. Download it here: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/myths ... 896695539/. Many Mahalos!!
Re: Updating MTFL
Worked great! I removed the original M:TFL, and then downloaded the MythII zip file from:
http://fastcast.nz/downloads/Myth%20II.zip
I unzipped it to a MythII folder I created in my C: drive (I had to go into the folders Properties -> Security -> Edit to give all listed users full access because I kept getting an error when I initially tried to run the mythII.exe file for it being read only). Once it was running, I then downloaded the updater from:
http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/downlo ... -3-windows
I unzipped it and ran the included .exe file. It updated MythII after I pointed to where it was installed. Properly updated now, I downloaded the Detailed Texture Megapack from:
http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/downlo ... e-megapack
I unzipped this, and copied the "Magma - Detailed Texture Megapack" file (no extension) into the plugins folder within my MythII installation directory. Finally, I downloaded The Fallen Levels V2 from:
http://tain.totalcodex.net/items/downlo ... -levels-v2
Again, I unzipped the file and copied the "Magma - The Fallen Levels v2" file (no extension) into the same plugins folder in my MythII installation directory.
Working and looking fantastic now! Sorry for the long-ish wrap-up, just figured I'd post what I did as bulleted as possible in case someone else is in the same boat starting from scratch.

Re: Updating MTFL
Thanks a lot! It works for me when running in compatibility mode with Windows XP Service Pack 3 on Windows 10!
Its fantastic to play the game again after 20 years !

Re: Updating MTFL
Same, although I realize now that after completing the original Myth not long after I got it installed, I sort of stalled out in my quest to finish Myth II. I'm not sure how many missions into I am, but I need to wrap it up for completeness sake.purmike wrote:Thanks a lot!
