MacOS & 1.8.3 - Logs out user upon map load

Hello!
First, just want to express gratitude for the fact I can revisit my youth playing Myth on a modern system!
Basically, upon loading a map/mission (seeing the first part of the progress bar) Myth II closes and I'm presented with the login screen as if I pressed the Log Out option under the Apple menu. This happens about 75% of the time, New Game, Saved Game, Tutorial, all of them.
