lol!! A typography critique! I love this community. =)

Utilizing modern fonts that result in clean scan and facile tracking wasn't conducive to the aesthetics of Mazzarin's milieu. In fact the blur and loss of pixels on letters superseded the starched crispness of legibility in order to convey a sense of the archaic, battle worn, moth-eaten tapestry that is Myth.

Oh yeah, it was also a free font.

So I went with Papyrus. Looks great on codecs with less compression. But such is the nature of web delivery and bandwidth constraints where a file size under 15 megs is desired.

If you want a Hi Rez copy on CD be a member of the first team to beat Mazz V on legendary and your immortality will be digitally preserved in a font of your choice. You seem like a Chancery type of guy to me. ;)

Glad you liked the rest of it.

"Don't really play myth," you say? Well try a slice of Mazz. Play with your friends and die horribly along side of them. But first you can repel wave after wave of enemies as inevitably you are whittled to a nub. Even faster if you are a noob.

Fall upon the battle field and watch as your former friends scoop out your entrails--while you yet breathe--so that they might fashion a rope with which to climb the walls, seeking escape from the Valley of their Demise.

Or just blow stuff up!

Hey, though valley worked better in the sentence, I am pretty sure that it is a plain...

plains are flat or gently rolling despite what bungie thinks

this has walls and a dry river bed

Maybe its an escarpment ;)

Mazz's Escarpment, yeah thats the ticket

I would've gone for "Wadi Ya Doin???", given that a wadi is a dried river bed (a term normally used in northern Africa I think... There was a TFL map called "Blood on the Wadi" once too... lots of fun.)

...Also given that people do strange, self-destructive things on CP's maps :-)

Or mb "Helter Skelter Delta".

What did you cut the flick together with, Woof? SnapzPro and iMovie? (Dang, I really gotta get Tiger... and iLife'0-number.)

Walls, you say? I didn't see any walls in the trailer. Good lord. That could offer strategic differences (ie. cowering in corners, licking wounds) that would interest me in playing it.

Just give me a breakdown on what units do which with what, for how long, at what time, to which creature, at which location, while wielding which weapon, at what range, holding which colour artifact, for whatever damage =>:-P

I knew it! There was SOMETHING familiar about the way that berserk just stood there and took all the damage. It must have reminded me of all those times I've pwned you, Cid.

wow what a response, lots of fancy words...I dont like fancy words...its always makes me feel like im talking to robots...and usually the ppl needing the most complex words to explain something are the ones that have no idea what the fuck they're talking about (not saying u dont) anyway, not trying to start a discussion about a font (because it really doesn't matter and i dont have time for it anyway) but if u wanna know why I dislike the font used then read on.....if its gonna lead to u getting pissed at me or something then dont bother and stop reading...

even though I said "it pretty much suckz" I only meant its in a positive way...learn from it and do better next time (if there will be a next time), never to old or good to learn something new I guess...

font used is a standard font as u already said...its a new/original/creative map...meaning it deserves a new/original (or "different") font..or u could have atleast used some effects or something on the text (its just bright red)
red on a black background is just a waste of MBs, u could have shown the map or characters or something while the text was on screen...guess thats all...

oh and i wont be on the first team to beat the map...if id want a high res trailer id simply beg =)
