Reviews of Heroes Who Dare
by GHOST® of Project Magma
This map has a lot of really innovative features, but I was disappointed in the overall gameplay and unit behaviors. Cool graphics, effects, and scenario, but ultimately falls short because the units seem to be fairly glitchy. It is very difficult on hard settings, and lots of action going on all at once. Worth playing but leaves a lot to be desired in the end. 5 stars for effort, 3 stars for actual plugin.
I ( as modders ) eagerly anticipated release this plugin. For me, this plugin , though not, I would call it a conversion, provides a wealth of new resources for plugins.
Idea plugin - well, I would not say that it is in itself some new character. This is essentially the story "Valley of Despair", only in a different location . The same World Knot, which must be destroyed, the same huge crowds of enemies that are better get round , the truth "VoD" to do was impossible.
Interesting idea invisibility which makes you think tactically , rather than in the style of "massacre". Highlands constantly interferes, damn howitzer trees spread into pieces , and sometimes shoots to one side and accidentally gets into your dwarf who carries on the pieces of other characters .
Great units from Iron Duke delight the eye. Great job . The only problem , it seems to me , coop. Difficult to manage four heroes one , especially when you need to call the final bombardment.
Subtotal:
- Colorful , great , incredible work
- Excellent special effects and battle on the west of the map , which seems to never end.
- Falling from the airship dwarf :)
- Not the smartest , but not stupid intellect enemy that never get confused in choosing the action .
Sound design
- Single-Type plot.
- The complexity of the game at one .
- Myrmidons, which do not attack the player in the northeast of the map , even if you stand close.
It should try each.
thus far its been heroes who die ... though its been plenty of fun dying well... great graphical improvements and challenging scripts.. all in all a great coop for a few players.
Definitely interesting, but the invisibility ability is glitch ridden. It seemed to be random how long it would take for enemy units to de-target after turning on invisibility, and several games can be ruined by the soulless/myrm/ghol who takes about 15 seconds to forget it can't see you or the zig zag you are taking. The dwarf hero is miserable and easily the worst unit I've ever used. Those two issues make the plug unplayable, unless you take just the heron guard and berserk fast units and try to make a run for the world knot, even then it's pure luck if you make it, not tactics or strategy, and that makes for a lot of wasted time.
This map was creative and fun, but very diappointing in the gameplay with the enemy/friendly units. Cool graphics, effects, and scenario, but ultimately, one star. Good effort and entertaining, thanks for the sweat and blood put into this, GHOST.
