OOS

I downloaded 1.6 yesterday, and now EVERY saved game, even ones I just barely created using 1.6, goes OOS immediately upon starting.

There's nothing in my local folder to foul things up. I started a game in Willow Creek, saved it as soon as it started, and then opened that saved game. OOS.

It happened on both my Mac and my PC. Heres the myth log from the PC:

Yes...I just checked this out and it is indeed happening in build 289.

However, it is not happening in build 287 so it must be something done after this.

It's happening with both Myth II 1.6(Universal) on my Intel Mac and Myth II 1.6 on my G4.

Games saved with versions prior to 1.6 won't work. Saved games were never compatible between different versions of Myth II.

Though, if you saved a game using Myth II 1.6 Build 286, chances are - it might work on Myth II 1.6 289.

EDIT: However, if saved games saved using Build 289 go out of sync on Build 289, then there is a problem. :(

EDIT2: Hmm, I have confirmed that the above is in fact what happens. :( You'll have to hang in there without saving until we get the bug resolved.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I too am experiencing this problem (along with my mysterious quitting after beating a level) on Mac OS X, intel with 1.6 Universal. I've never had any other version of Myth II installed on this mac.

Good luck hunting this bug down, and thanks for your efforts, they are very much appreciated!

This problem is present on Windows Classic build 289 too.

We have isolated and fixed the issue. Saved games saved on 1.6 should no longer go OOS. You can find the updated version of 1.6, Build 290, at the Tain.

How do you install 290? I just ran the installer for it when running 289 and I've gone OOS in the same way already.

Do I need to install 1.5.1, then build 290?

I just ran the intaller over the build 289 I already had installed and it worked fine.

Yeah, I've just confirmed that's its OK.

Make sure it says "Build 290" in the top left corner. If not, re-download and re-install. Also, make sure your local folder is empty (as this may also cause saved games to OOS), and it should work.

Well I had same OOS problems as I mentioned in previous post so I installed 1.5.1 then ran the build 290 installer. I'm still going OOS.

The main menu showed build 290 both times, I even deleted the previous 1.6 installer.

The only thing I've got in my local folder is my custom formations.

I think custom formations would cause OOS. Delete everything in your local folder.
